Cubans Sinal and Ballard: Queens for third time

 

BOCA CHICA, April 12, 2009.- Cubans Nirian Sinal and Kirenia Ballard won their third crown in as many tries in the 2009 Norceca Beach Volleyball Circuit by winning the Boca Chica Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

 

The Cuban women pair followed their success in the events of Cayman Islands and Guatemala with a 21-17, 21-14 victory over Costa Ricans Ingrid Morales and Natalia Alfaro in the final match. The men’s gold also went to Cuba with Sergio Gonzalez and Karell Peña winners 21-16, 21-17 over Jason Wight and Michael Bruning of USA. More Spanish


Americans Wight-Bruning and Cubans Gonzalez-Peña make it to semi finals

 

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, April 11, 2009.- Americans Jason Wight and Michael Bruning and Cubans Sergio Gonzalez and Karell Peña advanced to the men’s semi finals of the Boca Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament, the third stop of the 2009 Norceca Circuit.

 

Wight-Bruning, champions of the first event of the year, reached the semi finals by defeating Shervin Rankin and Olney Thompson of Cayman Islands by score of 21-13, 21-16 and edging Yewddys Perez-German Recio of Dominican Republic 21-18, 21-19. More Spanish


Cuba and Costa Rica women’s are top semi finalists

 

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, April 11, 2009.- Cubans Nirian Sinal and Kirenia Ballard and Costa Ricans Natalia Alfaro and Ingrid Morales are the first and second women’s  semi finalists of the Boca Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament, the third stop of the 2009 Norceca Circuit.

 

The top ranked Sinal-Ballard, winners of the first two legs of the tour, defeated Maria Jose Orellana and Ana Ramirez of Guatemala 21-9, 21-13 and Mexicans Vanessa Virgen-Diana Estrada by score of 19-21, 21-15, 15-10 in Saturday’s action. More Spanish


Americans Koester and Knoff start on the right feet

 

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, April 10, 2009.- The USA women’s team of Jenelle Koester and Angela Knoff won their three matches on Friday and advanced to the main draw of the Presidente’s Boca Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament, the third leg of the 2009 Norceca Circuit.

 

In Pool B, Koester-Knoff defeated DOM-2 of Ana Fabian-Isaires Restituyo 21-15, 21-13, then beat Puerto Ricans Natalie Beauchamp-Carolina Garcia 21-12, 22-20 and ended with a 21-15, 21-15 victory over Maria Orellana-Anna Ramirez. More  Spanish


Sinal and Ballar go for the “three-peat” in Boca Chica

 

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, April 9, 2009.- Cubans Nirian Sinal and Kirenia Ballar go for a third consecutive crown in the 2009 Norceca Beach Volleyball Circuit as the Dominican Republi Tournament in Boca Chica sponsored by Cerveza Presidente kicks off on Friday.

 

The pair of Sinal and Ballar is this year’s top ranked team in the Norceca Circuit after winning the first two events of the season held in Cayman Islands and Guatemala. More Spanish
